F1 Attracts More Foreigners This Year

Undoubtedly, one of the most famous car races is the World Championship of Motoring, which although has a history since the nineteenth century, started formally in 1950.

In Mexico it was presented for the first time from 1963 to 1970, the second occasion was from 1986 to 1992 and with a spectacular return after 23 years of absence, a contract was achieved for five years, from 2015 to 2019.

Like every edition, since the first race in Mexico, this year fans from all over the country are looking forward to the event, which will be held from October 26 to 28 at the Hermanos Rodríguez Autodromo.

According to data from StubHub, eBay’s marketplace, this year there will be fewer national fans, who will be 71% of attendees vs. last year who were 79%. Those who have increased their presence in this event are the Americans, since continuing with the comparison with the 2017, 14.9% of the attendees were Americans, while this year has increased, and now will be 22.0% of attendees.

And as the presence of fans from various states of the republic could not miss, Jalisco, Nuevo Leon, Puebla, Guanajuato, Queretaro, Yucatan, Baja California and Veracruz will experience this experience.

Continuing with data from StubHub, the profile of the attendees who will enjoy the races on the last weekend of the month, have a varied age range, between 10 and more than 65 years old, but those who predominate are young people, between 25 and 34 years, with 45% participation.

It was in 2015 when the great race of the World Championship of Motoring returned to Mexico after 23 years of absence, being 2018 its fourth consecutive year, after its third return to the country, there have been two modalities in which the fans of this career have acquired their tickets on StubHub, the first is the subscription that includes the 3 days (37.5% of users), while Sunday is the most popular day with 28.5% of the preference.

Despite the great euphoria experienced by international events that occur in the country, this year the acquisition of tickets had a greater peak between September and October, that is, days closer to the race.
